Congressman Visiting 12 Cities on Final Push to Victory

Duluth—Congressman Jim Oberstar is kicking off his campaign swing through the 8th District tomorrow. On Friday, Oberstar will begin his "Best Days" tour at the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth. He will then travel to 12 cities across the 8th District until he arrives home in Chisholm late Monday night.

"I'm truly excited about this tour," said Oberstar. "I want to talk about the future. We have many challenges before us; the war in Iraq, the national debt, and the issues of education and healthcare. With new leadership, we can solve these problems. Our best days are still ahead of us."

Many politicians have not kept focus on the future or the issues that are important to Minnesotans. They have run negative ads and focused their efforts on personal attacks. "My campaign will not sink to that level," said Oberstar. "As a candidate for Congress, you owe it to the people to run a clean campaign based on issues. I've defended myself from attacks when I've had to, but I have never stopped talking about the issues that matter to my constituents."
